I BOUGHT THIS THIS FOR MY 89 YEAR OLD FATHER.(WHAT)---- IF YOU OR HAVE SOMEONE THAT HAS TROUBLE HEARING THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED. VOLUME CAN BE ADJUSTED TO YOUR NEEDS, ALSO CHANGE THE TONE FROM HI TO LOW. WORKS GREAT AND YOU DON'T HAVE THE SPEND $100.s FOR A NEW PHONE.
Bought it for the office. One of the ladies is hard of hearing and it works so good for her.
It eliminates background noise by shutting down the telephone microphone, so the hard of hearing person has to keep their thumb on the boost button--press, release, press, release--throughout the telephone conversation. That could have been due to our DSL line, but with/without phone filter, it didn't work.
My wife is very hard of hearing. We have one Clarity phone with bass boost, and she loves it.
There are a lot of 5-star reviews for this product, but it didn't work for me. There was incredibly loud feedback when the phone was first answered.
So, I thought I'd try this amplifier instead of buying another amplified phone system. This way we could use it at home and easily take it with us if we traveled anywhere.
Also, in order to use the "boost" function, the button has to be pushed and held down while listening and then released when talking. Kudos to Amazon for their return policy.
I installed with a LAN line , corded phone. Unit worked the very first time - no problems. My folks immediately noticed the difference and now use it all the time. I cranked it up to max volume.audio amplification works great with very little sound distoration and no feedback problems.
This is the best handset amplifier I have ever used. As most of my hearing loss is in the high ranges, the tone adjustment is invaluable. I have been struggling with understanding phone conversations for years and this product has solved my problem completely.
